Achievements, a long standing debate.

Hey all, so, I just wanted to see what everyone else thinks about achievements, I just had a bit of an argument with someone on my friends list, because he thinks its sad that I have such a high gamerscore, but, if they werent to be obtained they wouldnt be in the game right?
The way I see them is, if you really liked a game and you wanted something else to do on it after finishing the story line, theres a whole bunch of extra tasks for you to do, RPG games are great for this, yeah I might be a bit of an achievement whore, but at the same time I see that I havent wasted £40 on a brand new game by finishing it and never playing again, what do you all think about them??

Man, don't listen to them. I envy you for your gamerscore. I do not think it is sad at all.. Achievements are a sign of how much you really enjoy gaming and the game you are playing. Don't listen to who ever it was.

Yeah I wont be listening to them, I've a goal of reaching close to or above 70,000 by the end of summer, so yeah, picked up rayman origins this morning for an easy 1,000, and I NEED to get and do the spec ops on MW3...need to rally up some help with that at some point if your down for it one evening?

Wow. What you have isn't sad at all. I think it's great.
Your gamerscore just shows how much effort you've put into your games.
I agree that achievements give you something to aim for and I think that's pretty awesome.

Lol Spec Ops missions, they are like the only thing stopping me getting 100% on MW3.
Most of those missions are hard as hell on veteran without having checkpoints, but I guess I just suck.

Just pushed up to 68,000 this afternoon so imma break my goal no problem hopefully, thankyou

No I totally agree I think theyre really hard on veteran aswell D: I did a heck of a lot of them on Mw2 solo but I can't seem to find the will to do them on Mw3 D:

Yeah but we managed to dupe some glow stone before they patched the dispenser bug so weve got a coulpe of light sources

I wish I had a high gamerscore. I know I would have mine higher if I had my xbox longer than a year. Also if my other account gamerscore was still on it.

I heard Minecraft was getting some bugfixes today, but I wasn't sure.
Do you know if they added pistons, shears or any other little things they were going to add in the first update? I'm too lazy to check.
I want some piston fun. lol... but idk if any new content was added yet.

Btw, I heard there will be no Creative mode added until the 2nd or 3rd content update so I'm guessing that's still a while away.
I'm not too fussed about Creative, but that'll really make it easier for people who just want to build giant structures when you can fly and have infinite everything. lol

I like achievements the only thing that annoys me is that very few games have achievements for multiplayer and I very rarely play single player games unless my net is down lol.

Well at least there is more mp gamerscore games out thare than ones that give Avatar rewards. That's what they need to put in more games...

Well I have noticed that the recent games, the more they come out the more multiplayer based they are going to be, I remember a rumor that was coming out about a game that it was going to be mult-iplayer only. I think that later on they WILL have multiplayer games out that have the usual 60 achievements or whatever.
